~Wedding Ideas!~

yup. I'm incorporating an exclamation point. I like it better. I wasn't sure how to present all my ideas for the wedding for you guys so I'm going to do it a post at a time and then maybe spill the beans with all the other stuff? Dunno. First, Brian and I are wanting a vintagey earthy theme since we are getting married outside on a historic island(yes, even if it's raining!we dont mind). After some talking we decided to go with our favorite colors:mine-green,his-gray(think silver)and white. blah de blah. so here is something for now.

~Happy Lil Home~

I'm planning a tiny garden this year.... with so much going on we can't get too big. But next summer, I will do all the things that are fun but so time consuming! (potatoes, corn, etc.) I usually do a garden every year but the past 2 summers I haven't been able to because of work and moving. I love gardening and I've done it my whole life. My mom was always an amazing gardener and my childhood memories of summer always included fresh picked strawberries, green peppers, tomatoes, homemade chocolate zuchinni cake made with fresh zuchinni, and breath taking zinnas. When I was 11, I planted my own herb garden and my favorite was chocolate mint. I would pick it and put it in my bath water!(yes, I was crunchy and strange even then). Here is a tiny preview.....
~some tasty herbs, definately basil~

~heirloom tomatoes~

~peppers~
for some reason my tomatos don't grow very well but the peppers always do
~zuchinni(those blossoms are yummy!)

~pumpkins! Im using the white ones for the weddin'~

~zinnas(these too!shhhh!)
~strawberries~
I make some tasty jam.

~ I think this sign says it all~

~Currently Kindle Wednesday~

a story that will make you appreciate your messed up childhood. This is a wonderful book and Ive heard her book Half broke Horses is equally as reality gripping.  I'm thinking of starting the Hunger Games trilogy soon.... Moses read them in school and really liked them. I go thru phases with my reading.... I devour an author's lifetime of work in sometimes a week. It's quite pigish of me and so I've slowed down. But I do go thru some weird themes.. trilogys, shocking reality, outdoor adventure, straight historical, select authors, etc. Right now I'd say I'm on a woman power kick although I'm not sure that is something I would have ever sought out. It's just a personal observation. Now I know I keep saying this but let's get these post back in sync and with some kind of rhythm.

~ Easy Like Sunday Morning~

~ a lady in waiting~
the past few weeks have flown by and I guess it's because I spent most of last week sick. I feel like all my Easter fun/blog posts have been put on the back burner but we have had so much exciting stuff happening that we haven't had time(or want) to be upset about it. First,  I should freshn you guys up on my lovely life.Brian and I have known since the beginning that we would never be apart and have always planned on getting married and havin this lil family grow a teensy bit more.... we started slow but our hearts beat fast and...well.... here we are today. In June we decided on a date with only one part of the plan. We wanted to get married on Blennerhassett Island in the Fall with an intimate gathering of family and friends. In July, we put the small fee down on the park and in early Sept. I got ahold of a guy to make fresh pressed apple cider during our wedding day. In October, he found the ring and Brian has been holding off for our perfect moment so that we could celebrate our love in private with just each other as the world around us was still in a spring quiet. We held each other Sunday morning at Fort Boreman as we looked at our little island waiting patiently for us, we took in the fresh air and early sunshine, sweet promises were spoken, then he gave me my ring. I know I have said before about how blessed I am but I can't put in words how fortunate I have become. My family has always been so supportive and amazing. Since I've met Brian's family they have welcomed Moses and I with open arms and nothing more. That has been so reassuring that this is the life I've been waiting for. I feel like I'm so lucky to have yet another family to call my own soon.

                       ~ Street Performers~

I think street performers are just utterly amazing and deserve so much love. I had a million videos to pick from but something about this guy was extra charming. Next time you are out and see a street performer stop and at least listen. They are the ones playing the soundtrack for the world.
