As the wedding gets closer, I'm having less and less time to do this. Also, ALL of my close friends that would be able to help me with wedding decorations and painting the house are at the beach. yesh.the beach. if i werent so sweet i would curse them with sandy cracks and jellyfish stings with a side of sun poisoning....I posting something tommorrow about the bathroom redo but i thought i could give you a another neato idea that is part of our wedding? :) they are eco-friendly and very safe so take that poo-pooers(you KNOW who you are). also? they are beautiful and inexpensive!!

~Oh So Good~

so as you all may know... I'm thinkin of sponsoring a blog but not sure who.......
i sure would love to link up with Emma from Food Coma or ohdeardrea or Sparkle Power! or Mama Loves Papa I like all these ladies very much but I've decided to stay small for now and think bigger when my schedule slows down. While I was on Food Coma today I got some cooking/baking/eating envy... so tonight as I sit here and nibble pistachios and flavored water I'm wishing for something a little more like......

Have you been eating something special? don't these all look amazing? find more of whatever you are looking for or not on Pinterest. love,me

~8 Days a Week~

I have been daydreaming and planning all of our new home details(i know, i know but the wedding planning is almost done!). Luckily for the most part Brian and I agree on ALMOST everything.... here are some of our plans....
a piece of old iron(maybe a gate or fencing like shown here) as a headboard.
an L-shaped loungy couch

neutral walls(i like the credenza to possibily put the tv on and use as an entertainment center)

we have some huge great windows. some neat stained glass is definately a must!

ok. i haven't sold him on the clawfoot tub but isn't this bathroom lovely?

the big farmhouse kitchen sink

some salvaged woodfloors

;) it will definately be an adventure......

what week is it? How am I doing? I'm tired and I wish this thing was over. all this making me better is making me worse.I'm wiped out. I have been working nonstop(in the yard) at the new house trying to get it ready for moving in. Our garden is in and my good friend Abbie helped me bust out some hard core landscaping today. But enough about all that this week will be halfway over tommorrow. My goals for this week.....

*at least 60 miles of exercise
*finish the yard at the new place
*have a blast at my soon to be sistah's river lot partay this weekend{music, food, camping,FUN}i'm gonna eat a smore.

~Feed Me Something Sunday~

I've been busy today in our garden! Yay! It looks amazing and I even made another little herb garden today. I love fresh vegetables and herbs but my favorite most of all is basil. I can eat it nonstop. I planted a whole row of just basil. I might quick freeze it so I have it through the winter or can some homemade pesto or can it with some juicy tomatoes for a quick pasta sauce. I dunno but I'm giddy just thinkin about it. I thought I would give you guys a link to a website I like to visit that has some fresh herb recipes. YUM.  and now I will give you some nerdy but sage(hehe pun intended) health advice.

Benefits of basil:
This fragrant and flavorful herb, a relative of peppermint, is an excellent, nutritious addition to your pasta sauce, soup, or salad.
An array of flavonoids exist in basil, which help to protect cells and chromosomes from damage. Studies have shown that two of these flavonoids in particular, orientin and vicenin, are useful in protecting cell structures and chromosomes from damage by radiation and oxygen.
Essential oil of basil has been shown to inhibit the growth of several types of bacteria, many of which have become resistant to antibiotics. This essential oil has been found to inhibit growth of the widespread staphylococcus, enterococcus, pseudomonas, and e. coli bacteria, among others. Adding basil to your vinaigrette will both enhance the flavor, and ensure that the fresh salad greens are safe to eat.
Eugenol, which is found in essential oil of basil, provides an anti-inflammatory effect, by blocking an enzyme called cyclooxygenase. Aspirin and Ibuprofen work by blocking this same enzyme. So, basil can have healing benefits, and provide relief from the symptoms of inflammatory problems, like rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory bowel conditions.
Basil is also a good source of vitamin A, which helps to prevent damage to the cells by free radicals. Vitamin A also prevents free radicals from oxidizing cholesterol in the blood stream, preventing the cholesterol from building up in the blood vessels.
Magnesium is also present in basil. This essential mineral helps the heart and blood vessels to relax, improving blood flow. Other nutrients found in basil include iron, calcium, potassium, and vitamin C.
The fresh, spicy flavor and scent of basil will wake up any boring salad or soup. Use fresh basil whole, or shredded to add a burst of flavor to your dinner. If you are using fresh basil in a cooked dish, add it towards the end of cooking, so that the volatile oils will not be dissipated by the heat.

nerdage found here

so not only is basil tasty and you should eat it because I said so, apparently it's quite good for you*insert a pic of me shoving my glasses up my nose with my index finger* go eat something green and be a better human inside and out

~8 Weeks to a Better Me~

I still don't have new shoes. Shame on me and my crusty Forrest Gump feet. My mileage is still doing great. I should push myself to get a lil higher this week.... hmmm. I guess it will be a surprise on how I do or what my goal is this week. Only a couple people know. One is little man. I love him so much. I'm so proud he is going to highschool. I really am excited for his bright future*motherloveson* Do you guys have any suggestions on some goals? I'd love to hear any. I'm kinda stuff for this week. I had to get creative....
                           ~Week #5~
*split a pitcher of beer with my best friend Abbie(what?) um this is my blog friends. I decide what makes me better:)
*let my dog walk me. i can't wait to see where she takes me. I'm guessing Hardees.
*go swimming and do some yoga stretching in the pool but not pee in it this time.

Now that school will be out I will be able to focus more on posting pics of the family and all the awesome things we do. Good luck to those who are sticking with this challenge! I know my family and friends have been so supportive. Brian has really kept me focused and encouraged me when I get frustrated. Jen has REALLY been with me literally almost every step of the way and I can't put into words how thankful I am for all her amazing kind words. ~It happened on Craigslist~

I don't feel like doing my regular posts this weekend. My yardsale was financially a disaster. It was alot of wasted time and a waste of a suntastic day(but I did get to hang out with some friends and we traded some of our unwanted wares...I made out like a bandit.OOPS more stuff). I spent today cleaning, perusing the internet and line-drying laundry. I didn't cook anything either. I'm anticipating the end of the school year and my son being a high schooler. Plus he is going on his vacation with his dad right after school is out:( he will have fun but I will sure miss him.So I came up with a new post as I was being a lazy laptopper. ~Oh So Good~

                                                             funny blog sight here...

so remember me saying I had to get rid of some crazy crap before I bought anymore crap which involved me dying to stop and buy or pick up "said crap" every time I see a yardsale & junk on the side of the road? Things I have passed up... a yard sale that had a full size vintage altoids machine( Didn't.even.stop). a groovy dresser with one drawer missing. three old apple baskets full of old dusty dirty jars in some old lady's trash pile. Getting the picture? I'm dying a little everytime I pass something good up because i have too much shit. So bravo for me tommorrow is offically MY yardsale day! Happy yardsalin' tommorrow folks!

~Keepin' it Simple~

I love laundry on the line. Growing up my Mom always did it. Now out of habit I do too when the weather permits. Wash your clothes with cool water and hang to dry. It takes alot less time to dry in the breeze and sunshine and it always smells better. I've been messing with the color, contrast, etc on pics for a surreal dreamy feeling. Fun! and having all our clothes and sheets  smell like all the honeysuckle blooming in our yard is just plain awesome.

~8 Weeks to a Better Me~

wow kiddies. I  just can't stop moving. I got the summer fever big time this year. I met my 25 mile challenge a day early on sat and chilled yesterday. I decided to up it again(holy crud) and try for 35... I did 8 today so I'm doing good and its only Monday. I'm pretty sunburnt and sore but my energy has been thru the roof the past couple days. I mean I go to bed and lay there wide awake which never happens. I'm excited to going swimming like nobodys business. I dabbled with the idea of trying a raw food diet for a week but I think I will wait until the produce drops in a couple weeks.
